और कुछ भी नहीं - aur kuchh bhi nahin

ख़यालों में डूबे
वक्त की सियाही में
कलम को अपनी डुबोकर
आकाश को रोशन कर दिया था मैंने

और यह लहराते,
घूमते -फिरते, बहकते
बेफ़िक्र से आसमानी पन्ने
न जाने कब चुपचाप
आ के छुप गए
कलम के सीने में।

नज़्में उतरीं तो उतरती ही गईं मुझमें
आयते उभरीं
तो उभरती ही गईं तुम तक।

आँखें उट्ठीं तो देखा
क़ायनात जल रही थी।

जब ये झुकीं
तो तुम थे और कुछ भी नहीं।

Khayaalon me doobe
Waqt ki siyahi me
Kalam ko apani dubokar
Akash ko roshan kar diya tha maine

Aur ye laharate ,
Ghoomate, firate, bahakte
Befikr se asmani panne
Na jane kab chupchap
Aa ke chhup gae
Kalam ke seene me.

Nazme utrin to utarati gain mujh me
Aayten ubhari to
Ubhartin hi gain tum tak

Ankhen utthi to dekha
Qayanaat jal rahi thi.

Jab ye jhukin
To tum the aur kuchh bhi nahin

STILLNESS MOVES (Reading at Living Arts Centre - Mississauga during literary festival - 13th September 2009)

Distances fade,
a feeling
as if I touched
the limitless remains.
Quivering fingers
grasp the floating clouds,
they merge in me
as I in you.
The hues of blue
disappear in each other,
when the sky re-emerges,
beneath to above
getting wet by the fresh rain.

My feet soaked
embedded in sand
leave impressions
strong enough
wiping off the tidal waves
that strike
the climax within.
Sand slips away
under my feet.
A Stillness moves inside me.

Duality will remain
I know,
separating me from you,
yet a dream is instilled,
I pulsate
yearn--
to be fecundated
by the distant you.
